MIR FULL is used for full face masks.

Hi mjpr,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
If you are using a full-face mask, you would set your machine to the full-face masksetting.
Hang in there for more responses to your post and best of luck to you wit your CPAP therapy.

RE: Resmed mask settings
Thank you Zonk and just Mongo. Still confused though. Mir Full shows flow rate over 40 l/m while specs on my mask show intentional rate about 30 l/m . I understand the resmed machine only reports unintentional leak rate. Wont this throw data off....or am I making something of nothing ?

In this case might affect unintentional leak rate, cannot work it out by how much
Maybe try some other settings which have intentional leak rate closer to your mask at the set pressure Dont-know

Perhaps. Masks have vents so the exhaled air can be purged from the mask between intake of the next breath. A mask from another manufacturer might have greater flow out the vents at a particular pressure. Generally, most full face masks will work with the ResMed machine set to Mir Full. I use ResMed Mirage Quattro Full Face Mask; and my reported leak rate is essentially zero. I keep my mask strapped on rather tight as I cannot stand a leak -- it just bugs me.

Possibly your 40 and 30 LPM leak rates are at different pressures.

Bottom line -- I wouldn't worry about.

RE: Resmed mask settings
I am with you on the leaks Mongo.....would rather have a few strap marks in the AM then leaks.

That being said my leak rates have been averaging 60LPM or more. I am not noticing the leaks, which is why I wondered if having wrong mask selected in machine was skewing the numbers.

Thanks again

RE: Resmed mask settings
If you over tighten the mask, you are causing more leaks than you are trying to fix.

If you are having to tighten a mask so much to stop leaks that you are leaving marks on the face just from the tightness, then you are either using the wrong size or the wrong mask.
