Rice Therapy 22/23

Rice Therapy 22/23
Coffee

Hi all! Its been a while. I'll be posting my charts once or twice a week for review now that I'm back to work and I'm on a schedule.

I suffer from positional apnea primarily but would love any insight from our experts on anything that needs addressing.

1. I wear a Comfort Velpau cervical collar every night. Numbers are awful without it.
2. I sleep on my side. Back sleeping is a major no no.
3. Tempurpedic mattress
4. I use a contoured memory foam pillow between knees to help keep my spine straight and to keep me on my side.
5. My head pillow is a memory foam 2 1/2 inches thick ---any higher my airway is compromised.
6. FFM Dreamwear
7. Heated hose with insulation for rain out
8. Res Med Airsense 10 Autoset
9. Consistent 7-8 hours of sleep nightly.
10. Power walk every morning for 30 min
11. Occasional morning stomach bloating (1-2 times per week?)
12. ResMed settings haven't changed in 6 months.
13. Numbers up and down depending on positional issues primarily.

This is my chart from last night(Sunday)

You certainly have come a long way with tackling the positional apnea issue. I think you and your cervical collar are now friends. Smile

Thank you Opal! You have been a huge help this past year of my initial therapy and getting me set up with settings and advice. It’s good to be back!

Let’s cross our fingers I don’t roll onto my back this week. The charts will certainly expose that!

I’ll post Monday and then on Friday and include all the charts in between so you can get an idea how I’m doing.

All my best this week !  Coffee

How does a pillow between your knees keep your spine straight?

I have a U shaped body pillow. It's actually a pregnancy pillow. You can position one side between your legs to keep your spine straight and the other side tucks in behind you and prevents rolling onto your back. It's awesome. So comfy

I thought this would work but I see now it acts as a pillow and I have to have a very flat pillow. This would elevate my head too much
Thank you though !

As for the question of a small pillow between the knees , it elevates your hip and straightens your spine if you sleep on your side.

Good Morning

Progressively worse the last 3 days...looks all positional.  Dont-know

I ditched the small pillow I've been using between my knees---too small and bulky. Woke up on my back in the middle of the night and made a mental note of that.

Collar fitting fine---pillow flat...its so discouraging.

I've also had bad issues with excess air in my stomach lately.

Anyway here are my last 3 nights
