ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto

I am a new member. I have been on treatment for 14 years using a BIPAP. I just got a new ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto and this is my first auto machine. When they brought me the machine it was not set to Auto. The person said she can't set it to Auto and that I need to get the Doctor to request this. My sleep study was 11 years ago and I have never changed my settings. I am working on getting approved for a new study, but it will take weeks. I went into setup and set it to Auto. My IPAP setting is 25 max and my EPAP setting is 16.5 It is my understanding that in the auto mode the machine should be cutting my events back on it's own. I had 10 events on night 1, 35 events on night 2, and 39 events last night on night 3. It's getting worse rather than better. but I like the auto and the fact that I can check my nights events in the tracking software, and the auto seems more comfortable overall aside from the increase in my events with this new machine that I set to auto on my own. Did i miss something when i did this? There several other settings I could have changed but I am not sure what to change them to. HELP Please. I need some decent sleep. I am ready to go back to my old machine,.
