Serious question: bubble-gum flavored mouthguard to keep mouth shut?

Serious question: bubble-gum flavored mouthguard to keep mouth shut?
The mouth guard part is the more serious aspect of the question. I've seen at another website, that one could use a martial arts double (top and bottom in one piece) mouth guard to help keep the mouth closed when using a CPAP. So, this wouldn't be a splint, just a closed-mouth facilitator.

Also used for hockey, lacrosse, cricket...

They cost as little as $4.

Has anyone tried this? How did it work out?

And, yes, if you need extra convincing to keep it in your mouth, mmmmm goooood, you can get it in bubble gum flavor. Purple? Halloween fangs? Patriotic?

Related: do you think an adult pacifier (evidently useful for BDSM and other kinky pursuits) would serve the same purpose, namely to keep you from breathing through your mouth so you don't have to use an FFM?
Random thought: BDSM and CPAP? Woah...

mouth guards don't have enough gripping power to prevent passive mouth opening.
How (un)comfortable would it be to sleep with one all night?

No real opinion honestly.

I had a mouth guard and tried it out. After about two minutes of drooling all over the place I took it out. Of course if you can blow bubbles it might be fun while awake.

Now I just use a Cervical collar.

Someone reported here that an adult pacifier did help them avoid mouth breathing.  I can see how that would work, triggering the suck response.

I am sure there must be a CPAP/BDSM site out there, but I am not gonna Google for it!
