Setting pressure on Airsense

Setting pressure on Airsense
Don't know if you remember my lasts posts, but here's a little history. I had been using a Aircurve that was giving to me until I got a sleep test and was sent a Airsense machine.  After using the Airsense my AHIs went from around 3 with Aircurve to 7 to 9 with the Airsense.  Airsense is thru Medicare so I hesitated to change pressures.
I talked to my Dr. and showed him my Oscar reports.  He let me know that he was no expert on Apnea and would refer me to a sleep specialist.
After listening to me and looking at the Oscar reports he said it sounded like I did my research and said I couldn't kill myself if I wanted to change the pressures that were set at 4 and 20 and he was OK with it.
Attached is the report from last night after putting pressures to 6 and 12.
I have been on the Airsense for a week so if you need anymore reports let my know.  I also have Oscar reports while using the Aircurve if needed.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

I'm sure someone will be along soon to give some hints for your settings.

In the meantime, you can get much nicer images if you hit the F12 button to capture the image without the desktop showing up.
The image will be stored in the OSCAR data directory/folder underneath the "Documents" folder. Look for the "Screenshots" folder.

Also, I made an easy-to-read post on some basics on chart interpretation that may be useful for you as you start to figure out how to look at these charts.

Welcome back,
I’m not an expert but pressure isn’t your problem. Central apnea is and pressure won’t fix that. Is there a way for you to get your machine settings to show on screen also. I’ll venture a guess and say it’s set on EPR 3.

The experts will be around shortly to help you with settings

Edit:
Scratch that last sentence. You are on EPR 3

Historical question, did your sleep study show lots of central apnea events? If yes, APAP isn't likely to be the right machine as the existence of CA in the study would point to pre-existing CA and that would lead to the ASV. As is, you're probably going to need to turn off EPR to attempt to reduce CA.

I agree with SarcasticDave. You don’t still have your screenshots from using the AirCurve do you? Because that should’ve had your centrals even higher I would think. Unless you were running it with settings equivalent to APAP.

I had a lot of centrals when I first used EPR3 so I had to start from off and slowly work my way back up to 3. On 3 the machine can be so efficient at removing co2 that your brain doesn’t send the signal to breathe because it thinks you’re all set until it builds again while you aren’t breathing. So you have to essentially acclimate yourself to EPR slowly. It didn’t take me very long but I didn’t have as many centrals as you do.

If you still have this many centrals with EPR off then I would suggest calling your doctor and have him look at the charts on his end

If you have copies of your sleep report please post them with personal information redacted. We like to see the complete report, not just the summary. In the meantime, I agree that you should turn EPR off.

As stated above turn your EPR Off, that should significantly reduce your Centrals. Then let's see what we have.

I didn't have a chance to look at your replies until this morning.
I just turned off the EPR and see what happens tonight.
 Thanks

RE: Setting pressure on Airsense
Hey you guys are good.  I turned off the EPR and here is last nights results.  AHI went from 9 to under 1.  I noticed when I first started to use the machine last night that it was easier to breath after turning off the EPR. I did wake a couple times with a dry mouth so I guess I was breathing out of my mouth and that is the large leaks.
So what do you think about the results.  Do some more tweaking or leave it alone. Hoping numbers will stay the same for future nights.
Thanks
