[attachment=7675]I downloaded sleepyhead about 2 weeks ago, elated that I could finally read my card (my PCP doesn't do that, he's an Internist; and due to how I got my sleep test done, I wasn't assigned a sleep medicine specialist, even though one did read my charts and prescribe a Resmed 8 (9-10 years ago)).  My card recently reset (soon before I got sleepyhead apparently).  Anyway, I had switched to the Resmed 9 on my own, because it had the SD card and sleepyhead so I could finally know what was going on.  Thanks to this site, I was able to find my prescription settings on the Resmed 8 and then transferred those to the Resmed 9.  The results were not great (AHIs from 9 up to 30, so not awful but not good either).  After looking at my data, I elevated the lower pressure to 6, instead of 4. I have EPR on but set to 0, figuring I'd wait and see. I still left the max pressure at 20, just in case, even though I didn't have anything above 11 at the old settings.  The first few days after the changes were good, AHIs below 4, generally, and I could tell  was feeling better, more energized, sleeping better. The last couple of days has been more erratic though. Some of that I attribute to 'behavioral issues' (like I had three mixed drinks on Saturday night at a party, sleeping on my back, etc.).  In any event, this Tuesday morning's data concerned me a bit since I've never observed such a long OA (one 45 sec, three 27 second ones); I woke up at 4:30 to go to the bathroom, that's the break you see in the charts below.  The CA events I believe are my REM periods (somewhat intense dreams I can't remember).   I also had two very long hypopnea events (over one minute each) just after 1:45am, very soon on the heels of the very long OA event.  Well, I've not yet seen such long events as the OA and H; should I readjust my settings? I'm calling to set an appointment with a specialist but that will take a few days to get in.  Any comments are appreciated.

RE: Settings questions
I'd set the minimum pressure to 10cm and that should take care of most of your obstructive apneas. It might or might not help clear up the clear events by preventing the pressures to max out.

RE: Settings questions
Many thanks. Definitely feeling the effects today, mainly with muddled thinking and tiring out easily.

RE: Settings questions
heropass, I think the suggestion for higher pressure is definitely a good one. Your median pressure is about 12 cm, so moving the minimum to 10 should be helpful. I also think that you might do well with an EPR setting of 2. It's possible it could increase CA events, but it's worth seeing if it increases comfort and helps with the hypopnea and snoring. Your results are currently pretty good, but higher minimum pressure, and possibly EPR could make it better.
