Similar OSCAR charts....

Similar OSCAR charts....
I didn't like the ResMed or the Phillips full face masks, switched to the Active LT nasal mask for the last couple of days.

With the nasal mask, I sleep better and don't snore much. One thing noticed in the OSCAR report is, that large leaks are pretty much at the same time frame for the last three days:

What could be causing the similarities? Is it the machine settings, or more likely tossing and turning around at pretty much the same time?

TIA...

The leaks are corresponding to Flow Limits, and your events tend to cluster in those areas. Most of the leaks are mask leaks which would occur from a change in facial geometry. In short I think you are tucking your chin. Try a cervical collar. See my signature for details

Thanks bonjour...

So, it's not "tossing and turning" while sleeping?

The cervical collar looks very intriguing, it may even prevent dropping the lower jaw and allowing me to use the full face masks.

Could this also be corrected by sleeping without pillows? Currently there are two pillows under my head...

It is a cervical alignment so pillow arrangements, number, firmness, thickness all can come into play. Feal free to try that. Consider a buckwheat type of pillow.

On masks I'm a minimalist. Go for the smallest least intrusive mask you can wear.

Mouth breathing, and you definitely had some, can be managed many different ways. Review that part of the Mask Primer if you haven't done so recently.

Thanks...

There's a lot to read, learn and try different things. While I have a CPAP machine for around a decade, this is the first time I actually looked in to the subject and monitor the machine's utilization.

In some respect, thank you pandemic, well, maybe not...

I slept last night with just one pillow, the results are encouraging:

While sleeping without a pillow is an option tonight, getting an cervical collar seems inevitable.

Could the cervical collar lower other leaks as well, or those are mask related?

TIA

The collar helps with mouth leaks, mouth breathing.

For years I used a mirage Activa nasal mask. It is a large, by today's standards, mask. It's feature is a bellows ahat allows about a lalf inch of movement. You can hold it on your face, under pressure, and move it in and out about .5 inches and maintain a good seal I set the straps to position it about half way. Try that with your mask.
