well, I wonder if a rooster and a chicken was on Noah's Ark! There would have more than enough time to lay an egg and sit on the egg until it hatched!

Must have been thousands of chickens...I mean, all of those carnivores had to have something to eat...right? The tigers polished off the unicorns in just a couple of days I'm sure.

Shy

The egg that hatched the first chicken came from a pre-chicken that had mated with another pre-chicken...of course which chicken was the first just all depends on where we draw the line of distinction in the spectrum of developing chickenness in the ancestry of modern chickens...fairly anti-existential I know. It seems that chicken essence must necessarily have preceeded chicken existence...I'm pretty sure Sartre wrote an essay refuting that but Hume tore it to pieces...or was that the other way around?

Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O.
And on that farm he had a chicken, E-I-E-I-O.
With a cluck cluck here and a cluck cluck there
Here an egg, there an egg, everywhere egg egg
Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O.

Well, I agree with SuperSleeper that we are all sleep-deprived; but in my case, it's simply that I'm ancient. That's why I know about Hume. Now I'm laughing myself silly with tears running down my face…. and remembering those good old days. Big Grin Or was it just a dream…

Anyway, I vote for the essence of chicken… no wait…
