Stuffy Nose & Dry Mouth
For the past 3-1/2 years I had been using a Resmed S8 with a aftermarket heated hose system in order to prevent rainout. I seemed to have had the humidity level set correctly because I wasn't getting a stuffy nose or dry mouth. I stated using a Resmed S9 with a ClimateLine tubing just over a week and a half ago so I wouldn't be dealing with numerous wires associated with the aftermarket heated hose. I've tried various temperature settings and I understand that the humidity setting is automatic at a constant 80%. I can't seem to avoid a stuffy nose and dry mouth. If I set the S9 to "ClimateLine Off" I understand that the hose will not be heated and a rainout problem can occur. Anybody out there have any suggestions or solutions?

If you access the clinical setup menu, there's an option called "Climate Control". If you turn it off, then you will be able to set custom humidity and temperature levels.

If I turn off the "Climate Control" in the clinical menu, will the "ClimateLine" tubing still be operable to prevent rainout? I thought the "ClimateLine" tubing needs the "Climate Control" setting on, in order to keep a automatic constant humidity at the mask and to prevent rainout. I could be wrong.

I set climate control on auto mode, for now set at 25C but adjust temperature setting depending on how cool/warm the bedroom

Dry mouth cannot be helped as you,re using full face mask but the more your nose is stuffy, the more likely you'll breathe through the mouth even more. Have you tried saline/sinus rinse, I use the squeezy bottle in the evening

Yes, it will still be operable. Take a look at the Clinical Setup Manual.

See ClimateLine user instruction in the above post.There is no OFF or ON setting for the climate control in the clinical menu ... either auto, manual, or patient. When you attach the climateline tubing, message pop up on the screen telling you "climate control enabled". You,re correct, rainout protection is only available on auto mode

In "manual mode" it lets you select humidity and temperature and you still get the ClimateLine hose going....but as Zonk said, the rainout protection is only available in automatic. I tend to keep my S9 on manual, and run fairly warm for temp and a little off the top for moisture to keep from raining out...so far, so good.
