Sleepyhead, copying files
Sleepyhead, copying files
Question regarding copying files.

After I import the files from the SD card, I like to make a copy of that onto a USB drive.
However there is a problem.

If I go through the process and replace files, it works but takes a long time.

If I don't replace files and just skip, not everything gets copied. Typically the data for the last few days is missing or incomplete.

So how can I copy without it taking forever. I've only been using the xPAP for 4 months. hate to have it take hours once I've been using for a year+

and yes, I am using a USB 3.0, and the original files are downloaded into my Tablet (windows) which is a SD drive.

Since you are using a Windows O/S you can try the "Robocopy" command with the "/mir" (mirror) switch. This will only copy files that have a different time-stamp, but will delete any file that has been deleted on the base directory/drive.

For its documentation, I'd recommend that you google the command. It is a very powerful command with several switches(options).

use the /XO /XN flags with robocopy. It will copy files that exist in source but not destination. If a file exists in both it will be ignored even if they are different.

robocopy source dest /XO /XN

Another trick is to do a copy with /M. This copies everything from source with the archive bit set and then clears that bit. Because all your files may have the archive bit set, the first copy might copy everything but after that, only new files or files that have changed since last copy will be copied.

Using FlashAir W-03 SD card in machine. Access through wifi with FlashPAP or Sleep Master utilities.

I wanted to learn Binary so I enrolled in Binary 101. I seemed to have missed the first four courses. Big Grinnie
