ResMed AirSense 11 End Cap - anyone familiar?

ResMed AirSense 11 End Cap - anyone familiar?
I apologize if this is a redundant post that's already been addressed. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything using "end cap" in the search terms.

I recently came across a device called an end cap that replaces the water reservoir on the AirSense 11 that effectively allows you to run the machine without running the humidifier. I've cranked down my humidity setting on my machine but the thought of completely eliminating it intrigues me.  I don't have a problem waking up feeling dried out so I'm kind of tempted to get this thing and give it a try.

Anyone have experience with one of these devices?  Anyone know of a reason why going without a humifier might be a bad idea???

Maybe I'm lazy or maybe I'm a miser - or maybe a little bit of both.  Too-funny  I just hate filling the blasted reservoir every. single. night.  I'd love to not have to worry about running out of distilled water and I'd really love not having to buy bottles of the stuff!

Any insights the community can provide would be GREATLY appreciated.

A simple test to see if you can tolerate no humidity is to empty your tank and turn off the humidity setting.

I have one for the Aircurve 10. I used it traveling and when running the machine on batteries during power failure. For me, it didn't make a lot of difference.
