My sister tried the "home DIY" sleep study where you pick up the leads/sensors and stick them on to your own body. Both times the lab said there was not enough data. So, try the "home" sleep study knowing it may not do any good.
Try as best you can to have the Dr rule out other physical/medical problems as much as possible and then...well, as they say...Craiglist is everywhere.
I am using my hubby's old "brick" CPAP until my own APAP comes in.
