Software/Data gathering issue
So interesting thing happened. Friday night I had accidently left my SD Card in my laptop rather than putting it back in my machine. When I realized that I had done this on Saturday morning, I took the card out and put it in my PAP. It came up with message to the effect that it was writing data to the card. It only took a couple of seconds and was done. I took the card back out and put it in my laptop again and did an import into Sleepyhead as always. I did get data, but the charts I received were not all of the charts I normally receive. Out of the 11 charts I normally receive I only got 5. I have Event Flags, AHI, Pressure, Leak & Snore for Friday night, that's it! Last night I made sure that the card was in the PAP and I received the normal 11 charts.
So I guess the question is; is this normal? Secondly is there a way to retrieve the rest of the data or does the PAP only record certain items when the card is not in there? Realistically, it is not that big a deal, but I am sort of curious as to why this occurs. Dont-know

There is some amount of memory in the xPAP machine. Not sure how much however. I have accidentally done what you described as well.

You wouldn't want to make a habit of it however. Too-funny

Things like this have happened to me. It's a bug in SleepyHead.

The only way I know of to view the data is to use Encore.

The reason for this design feature is so you can send the card to your DME, and then when you get it back all the data gathered during its absence is downloaded when you insert the card.

Okay guys, thanks anyway. It was one night and not an issue really, I was just kind of surprised and then curious! Last night I finally had my first night with an AHI under one (.35) so I am really stoked! All the rest is just BS! Smile Of course I only actually got about 5-6 hours of sleep so I'll probably crash and burn later today, but I feel great this morning!

I don,t use SH but if not mistaken the card doesn't have to be stuck in the machine during sleep - the PRS1 write the data on the card whenever the card put back in the machine unlike the S9 which the card has to be in the machine during sleep otherwise the detailed data is lost . Try unplug and plug the machine - sometimes rebooting helps clear the cobwebs

Are you sure this is right?

On occasion I have deliberately left the card out of my PRS1 because I wanted to test mask settings without recording the data. Data was not recorded when the card was out of the machine.

Yes. When you insert the card back in the machine it writes the data gathered during the card's absence to the card. It's done it on both my PRS1 models 450P and 650P. My DME also told me that this is is the way the machines are designed to work.

RE: Software/Data gathering issue
PRS1 machines only record a limited amount of data if there is no SD card in the slot.

You'll get event flags, compliance, and pressure, but no airflow data. Most of the sleepyhead graphs will be blank. No tidal volume, respiration time, minute vent, etc.

I think you'll get leak data, too.

Get the free SleepyHead software here.
What CPAP machine to buy.
Click here for information on the main alternative to CPAP.
If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.

I wonder if we are talking about different things. When I run the machine without the card none of the AHI data is ever recorded on the card, even after reinserting the card. However, the date, hours used, and probably other data, are updated on the card.

It might also be that my machine (firmware 1.24) doesn't do it, but later machines do. All I know is that things that happen when the card is not in the machine are never seen in SleepyHead.
