resmed Lumis 100 vpaps auto sense mode ?
Hello everyone , Im new to this forum and am not sure how it works. I have a Resmed Lumis 100 Vpaps and got it secondhand. when i first got it i was using it in auto mode ,so it was helping me breathe ( inhaling and exhaling) i gather it was on auto mode and it was very effective , life changing in fact. Then i took the machine to my specialist and he set it to constant pressure, my apnea has been massively worse since this has happened , at times i have to remove the mask because it is forcing air in and i can't breathe. i want to reset the machine before it literally kills me. the specialist has a 3 month wait for appointments , ANY help on how to put my machine on auto would be appreciated.

In the banner at the top of this page you will see setup manuals. Click that and follow the instructions on how to get the manual.

This is a very specialized and expensive machine. Great that you took the initiative to buy the machine. I have to ask what condition did you buy it to treat?

It may be that your specialist thought that auto mode was not the best mode for your condition and set it up in CPAP mode which would be a good choice for most patients with apnea.

More info on your condition, machine settings, daily detailed charts would help us help you.

I'm pretty sure this is a VPAP S which is simply a fixed pressure bilevel. You have settings for EPAP and IPAP, and can fine-tune Ti Min, TiMax and trigger/cycle sensitivity, but the only modes are VPAP S and CPAP. I don't think this machine has Vauto, and it is not a bilevel with backup rate.

Take a look at the settings and confirm the available modes and current settings. Be sure to note settings for Ti min and max, and post what you find. Perhaps we can find a solution. If you will download and install the free #Sleepyhead software, I think we can see the settings history so we can tell you exactly what changed. It wouldn't surprise me if your supplier switched this to CPAP mode. Easily fixed.

I think you're right SleepRider. Here are some links to the product page at Resmed Australia. It's gone midnight here so I'm off to bed now.

Thanks SR I was thinking that this machine had a backup rate that was turned off.
