Sudden increase in AHI
#41
RE: Sudden increase in AHI
If you can get help from the sleep doc, that will be great. I have not ruled out that the pr youoblem may be hardware related, but it's very rare to see such a high baseline leak rate for so long and over so many different masks. I don't assume there is anything wrong with using ASV for your therapy, but we have never had a clear picture of your therapy without an absurd amount of leaking.

OSCAR is easy. If you can borrow or buy a laptop, you could go through unlimited data. Keep in mind the data is not showing us anything other than a high persistent leak rate. We can't even be sure the events are real. Your doctor should focus on the function of your machine and peripherals and how you are interfacing with it. I honestly don't think the data has much to offer in your case, and may be more of a distraction than a guide to a solution.

RE: Sudden increase in AHI
Sleeprider,

Well, that is why I think a sleep study will be helpful.  In fact, I think that might well be the most useful thing I might do!  I completely agree about the data.  Frankly I have no idea about ASV - we'll see.  No question that it helped before but the change was so sudden and so dramatic that I think it has to be something major.

Dave,

I do not rely on mask fit test.  In fact I can't remember when I'd done it last.  I only did it because Sleeprider mentioned it.  And yes, I think the leaks are so bad I can't rely on any data.  As I just said, the sleep study may tall us something.  Wednesday night - we"ll see!
