Pain around rib cage when I use c-pap
Been on c-pap past two years, but just started to wake up with pain in my chest and ribcage. Talk to my heart Dr. and was cleared from any heart trouble. When I do not use my c-pap I have no pain. Any Idea what is going on. I will call my Dr. Monday to see if the pressure is too high.

Where is the pain, the upper part or the lower part especially near the diaphragm?
Left, right or both sides? Do you have any signs of congestion, illness or cold? Have you changed your medication regimen recently?
Geoffrey Rush as Philip Henslowe, (Shakespeare in Love) : "I don't know. It's a mystery."

Robert, you have an auto CPAP and are using fixed pressure. Maybe switch to auto mode with settings of 10-15 and see if that helps? I suspect this soreness will pass and may be unrelated to the CPAP. Anyway, if you want to post a #Sleepyhead graph of your current results, we can see if a lower pressure is viable.

For a week or 2, until the muscles are use to it. New users can get a sore chest and diaphragm. You shouldn't know you don't get a sore chest if you don't use the machine, you should use it all the time.
As well as sleeprider's good advice to switch to auto. You could set your epr/flex on 2-3 and talk to the doctor about bilevel if this doesn't work. If you have a need for a change of machine for a medical issue. If you use the machine spasmodically, the bilevel won't work either.

For auto-cpap, from machine data or software. You can set the min pressure 1 or 2cm below 95%. Or clinicians commonly use the maximum or 95% pressure for fixed pressure CPAP, this can also be used for min pressure. https://aasm.org/resources/practiceparam...rating.pdf |
