[Symptoms] Respirations

Respirations
Does anyone have a clue why my breathing is nearly double when I am asleep as compared to when I am awake? When sleeping, my respirations average near 22-26 RPM.

RE: Respirations
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respiratory...rmal_range
Adult normal respiration rate between 12 and 20 breathe per minute

I suggest discuss your concern with your doctors, there are number of reasons

RE: Respirations
When you have enough posts to enable you to link or attach graphs from sleepyhead, then post a magnified portion of your high rate flow and pressure data. There have been some cases where the reported resp rate is doubled by a false trigger. My machine reports periods of 2X rate that are due to this trigger issue. A small wiggle in my flow data causes a false trigger back to IPAP (from EPAP) and the machine thinks I am breathing at 2X the true rate.

(Also, would you fill in your machine model in your profile. Just "Respironics" doesn't say much.)
