First five days -- results/stats
Code:
Date   AHI    CA   OA   HA   95%Pres  ApneaTime  SleepTime

3/17   10.1   8.6  0.8  0.6   14.0      32 min     8:21
3/18   10.1   5.8  3.8  1.2   13.9      32 min     8:05
3/19   10.3   7.5  1.8  1.0   14.6      34 min     8:22
3/20   21.3  19.9  1.0  0.5   13.9      70 min     9:28

If my AHI was limited to just the OA and HA it would be pretty good.

I would have guessed the CA's to come during high pressure periods, but looking at the graphs they are everywhere.
More frequently around the median pressure, but also at low and high points.

Settings:

Pressure 10-15 EPR 2
(except first night was 6-12, second was 7-14, had to search a little to dial it in initially since I had nothing to go on)
(also opened the top range to 18 last night to see how high it needed to go, but it went over 15 just one time and just barely)

Humidity was auto (4) the first 3 nights.
Changed to 6 (out of 8) for the last 2 nights. (helped with dry mouth)

Tried EPR 3 (vs 2) last night, but it takes too long for the pressure to come back fully after an exhale.
Have to prolong the inhale unnaturally long for the switch from exhale to inhale pressure to complete.
It was very noticeable. The breathing sensation and also the mask rising and falling with the pressure changes on each switch.

I'm going to lock in at 10-15 and EPR 2 and ride it out a while.
Possibly tighten the range (later) to 10.6 to 14.2 to see if a narrower range helps with sleeping better and mask seal.

p.s. Median pressure is consistently just under 12.

Is that 21.3 accurate for last night? If so, I'm thinking you might be one that responds less than well to higher EPR settings, and that's what is keeping your CA's from calming down, at least with your current mask. I think perhaps leave everything alone until you get your P10. Or possibly drop the EPR to 1 tonight and see what happens.

I do know the feeling you're describing about the EPR 3 thing. It's almost like a water hammer effect where you can actually feel the higher pressure kick in. In time, with the P10, that might modify. But for now don't do an EPR 3, and maybe go to the EPR1.

It's accurate according to Sleepyhead and the display on the A10.
The AHI was about double, and the total apnea time about double too, so those both are matching up.

EPR 1 sounds like a good idea. That's what I used the first night, looking back at my stats. I bumped it up to 2 when I started raising the pressure, but now that I'm more accustomed to PAP I may not need EPR at all. A setting of 1 will be a good test.

I had high hopes for EPR 1 and gave it a try. Felt like it was too much effort to exhale. I had to work at it all the time when I was awake. Went back to 2 the following night and felt much better. Looks like I found my sweet spot for EPR. One variable down, five to go... Smile

(min pressure, max pressure, mask type, mask brand, chin strap or not, chin strap brand, sleeping position, humidity level, etc.) Ok, maybe more than five variables left. Thinking-about

Hi worn_out_in_lebanon,
I haven't been able to go without a pressure relief setting. I started out at 3, went down to 2, now back to 3. It seems my needs vary with the size of nasal pillow I use. I bounce back and forth between size extra small and small.
You seem to be doing well, but your AHI is still a little high.
