Happy New Year from a Newbe

Happy New Year from a Newbe
Received my AirSense 10 Autoset with HumidAir and ClimateLineAir Tube last Wednesday after being diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. After reading all the manuals, I found this excellent WEB site where I downloaded "SleepyHead and ResScan". I'm an Electronics Design Engineer and as you know Engineers love data.

My first night with the Full Face mask was terrible and only got 3 hrs sleep (my estimate). I spent most of the night fighting with the mask, but stuck with it for 7.5 hrs. I finally got it right and the last 3 hrs actually felt quite comfortable.

The second night was a dream, no pun intended. It was the first time since I was a baby that I didn't have to climb out of my bed (crib) once or twice during the night for a pit stop. I felt pretty rested that morning. Last night was the same. My AHI was 1.2, 1.5, and 1.7 which I believe is a good thing.

I'm learning a lot from this forum and like my subject title says I wish you all a Happy New Year! Sleep tight!

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum

Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night
