Time in the computer world is something that a huge number of really smart people have been arguing about and refining over decades (starting long before Jan 1, 1970, LOL). It looks to me like OSCAR works from the notion that the CPAP clock is authoritative, and everything else adjusts. There are a lot of subtleties to trying to make the real clock authoritative and then adjust the CPAP times to it. Most interesting is that if the start/end of each day is determined by the CPAP, then in the real universe of time every day CPAP day has potentially different lengths. Which is conceptually pretty much the problem that in daylight savings time clocks, all but two days are 24 hours, one is 25 hours and one is 23 hours. And occasionally when we have a leap second and that changes the length of Dec 31st of that year.
I was very new in 2014, but I seem to remember a kerfuffle about daylight savings time in my early days as a Sleepyhead user. Did jedimark make some design changes in Sleepyhead's clock handling about that era?

No response but I assume not recently.
It is not important to have accurate clock and synced oximetry unless you are actively changing settings because of findings in the data.
It is possible to manually sync oximetry data to any time in order to match cpap data so cpap time is not important in that aspect. Just leave your time as is when travelling etc and sync the data manually if you think it is critical to do so and going to result in an adjustment of settings etc.

I guess Resmed could have allowed us to change clock in the UI, but then only actually do it log-wise once the daily window closed ?
In any case, thanks for the thread. When I finally got around to changing the time on mine , it wouldnt let me because wouldnt you know it I had a nap that day that opened the >noon window and locked the time change ability for that day.
Came here.. sure enough, a solution was already on the forum !
Now my new personal rule is to change time somewhere between 1pm and 11pm , and dont nap that day.

ResMed does not see us as the customer, so when they engineer these machines it is certainly not with the thought of us changing clinical settings ourselves. That and they want you to but their grossly expensive oximeter unit that is made for the machine and works seamlessly. I doubt it was in their business plan to have a brilliant group of volunteers who could figure out how it all works and produce software much better than their own!
Yet here we are. Patiently waiting for the next software version to come out so we can glean. more info from our machine. I'm sure grateful for everything the team does. Sure does make my life easier......
