Reporting software Data Question
Hi All,
I've just downloaded Resmed ResScan software, My question is how often does one need to download data? Is this something one should look at weekly, monthly? I also have software that's called myAir were they send you minimal information daily via e-mail but it's nowhere near as technical as the clinical charts.
Just starting my therapy only 8 days into it, so I'm still learning how to get use to it all , hoses, mask, soreness under the nose, humidifer, mask leaks ,ect, ect, .
I don't want to become overly obsessed but just curious how other's monitor there progress.
Thanks

RE: Reporting software Data Question
The high sample rate data for flow and pressure are only on the SD card for 7 days. If you want to collect all data then each week you must download. Compliance data is on the machine itself for up to 365 days. Frankly, now that I have settled into a sweet spot in therapy, I don't download that often. The RLK data files pile up quickly; and before you know it, you have like a gigabyte of data in a folder on your computer. I have plenty of disk space; but my weekly backups take time; and I try to keep data that lives on the computer to a minimum.
I'm thinking you have a cellular modem on your A10. They are getting your compliance data that way. They can also change settings on your machine.
RE: Reporting software Data Question
You cannot be overly obsessive but for now you have bigger fish to fry
I would not worry about myAir, the machine display heaps of useful data on the screen providing "Essentials" set to "plus"
Actually, nothing technical about charts, most of the stuff are self-explanatory
I don't dig deep, just check the basic stuff, such as pressure, leak, events, flow limitation, and snoring
The proof of the pudding is in the eating, just the same with PAP therapy ... the proof is "how you feel"
Data can give you an insight of whats going on but cannot fix bad sleep, there is more to good night sleep than just good numbers
RE: Reporting software Data Question
For right now, since you are just starting, my suggestion is to download the data at least once every 7 days if you want to see the charts. If you just want the numbers themselves and plan on sticking with ResScan, then you can wait for once every...30 days?
I use SleepyHead, however, and download my data once every 7 days because I like to see the detailed graphs. My "sweet spot" in therapy is in flux it seems and I need those graphs to figure out what to do next. ResMed's stupidity with data is its biggest flaw and the fact they did not fix that with the A10 continues to show they are all for the insurance company and not for the best treatment possible. How can our doctor's help us otherwise? Their reliability on the modem shows how out of touch with the real world they are. They assume everyone is within reach of a tower.

RE: Reporting software Data Question
Thank you for you response, Some times I feel like my doctor is in it for the Insurance $$ , I was left with a lot of unanswered questions, (Which being new I sure didn't know what to ask), I'm not even sure when I need to be seen again for that matter other within the next 6 mo. I guess.
I was very disappointed with the way this all went down.
I'm learning more from you guys and gals on this board than the doctor.
I do however feel more rested in the mornings, even though I feel waken so many times though the night learning this whole CPAP therapy process.
Thanks again to everyone!
