Google "Steve Marsh canola". Marsh is a local farmer who lost his organic certification when GM canola seeds from a neighbour's property blew onto and contaminated Marsh's crop. Marsh sued the neighbour for damages but the judge found there was no duty of care requirement and threw out the case, leaving Marsh to pay $800,000 in costs. It turned out the neighbour's legal team had been paid by Monsanto. So Marsh is effectively paying Monsanto for having ruined his livelihood. Anyhow the case is now before the supreme court and a former state governor is representing Marsh pro bono.
