Today is the day!
I haven't been doing all that well the last few weeks as far as my daytime O2 is concerned. I'm great while sitting around, but when I do something strenuous, such as go from my desk to the espresso machine, I get pretty winded. Down to about 83 or 84% SO2.

It's just a little COPD thingy.

So I started a round of short term prednisone yesterday. Armed with that, today is the day! I'll be good to go for about a week, so no time to waste.

I shall venture out to my back deck, scrub down the old charcoal grill, and cook up a bunch of stuff. I'm thinking steaks, grilled veggies, maybe even a cat or two (since they think they have adopted my charcoal grill).

I can do this!

Then, I think I'll wander out front to my tomato garden and heap a little love on them. They sort of need it. Happily they have been watered by the graciousness of the rain gods the last few days. Now they would really enjoy a bit of sunshine. I'm feeling pretty sunshiny, so perhaps that will do.

Today is the day!

Enjoy the day and the energy!! Just watch the eating. It's very easy to gain a lot of weight really quickly from steroids.

Just checking in..... I'm on my way to the grocery to buy lots of funky veggies and stuff........ Man, does some crazy stuff grow in your charcoal grill over the winter or what? I don't have that much fuzz on the cats. Come to think of it, maybe it used to be a cat.

Sorry about the COPD thingy, R_G.

Don't take on too much in one weekend. You'll be sore for a week.
Do beware of side effects of steroids.

Yeah, I decided to let the tomato plants wait until tomorrow.

But the veggies are on the grill (aka barbie, for all you southern suburb folks). Just a few little potatoes, zucchini, onion chunks, peppers --- stuff like that. The steaks are waiting there turn.

So all is well.

I wonder if really hot grills kill all those mold thingies. If not, I would suspect it would encourage them to move somewhere else. So, once again, all is well.

I do know about the side effects of prednisone. It can really be nasty stuff. I can do a short course (5 days) once a month. So this is it for this month. It really helps a lot. Until it doesn't.

I guess I should use this occasion to remind our brethren and sisteren that still partake of tobacco products that it would be a really good idea for them to stop doing that. Oh, you could as I did wait until it was a few years too late, then you could look forward to your 5 days a month on prednisone too. Or worse. But I'm really not complaining. I've got a great life, a beautiful wife, two dauxies, too many cats.... and a grill full of good food.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everybody. Even you guys in the far away places that aren't celebrating Memorial Day at this time. It's a nice occasion for all of us to remember those that left it on fields for their countries. Friend and foe alike.

RE: Today is the day!
Wish we hadn't given our grill away. I would love some grilled jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese which is something that our child used to make every year and we would go over and grill (usually it was on labor day) but that isn't possible anymore. BUT, we did order swedish meatballs today (yep, not healthy but sure was better tasting than if we cooked them).

Stay safe this weekend and remember what Memorial Day is about. No need to spend a lot of money to show your respect for those that did not survive the war(s). A kind word goes a long way.

RE: Today is the day!
A great weekend so far... I'm trusting it is such for all of you out there. For me, we had a very nice dinner last night, and I'm doing it up again tonight. Baby-backs, lots of veggies to offset the fat content.......... Should be great.

I'm actually sitting here being sort of mellow right now. I'm thinking: I've been good. Sort of. So I think I need some new toys. Don't know quite what to do about that. Thinking about trading my pick-em-up in on a newer one, but Mrs. R_G really wants me to wait a little while on that. I have 3 espresso machines so I think I'd probably get "the look" if I brought in another one.

Maybe some new power tool. The last one I bought was a "saws-all," and Mrs. R_G won't let me play with it.

I don't know. Maybe I'll just go check on the Baby-backs.

Save some babybacks for me. I'm turning left base for final. Light some flares. I'm Bingo on fuel.
