Dream Station 2 software update

Dream Station 2 software update
I purchased a brand new DreamStation 2 back on June just before the FoamGate fiasco.  I received the machine without a SD card so I purchased a new ScanDisk 64mb card.  I inserted the card and after several nights of use got the "unable to access memory card" message.  I reformatted card and tried again.  Still not luck.  I got a SD Card from Phiillips yesterday with a software update fixing communications problems.  I ran the update and indicated that software was updated.  Replace card and got the same message after last nights use.  Do I have to use one of Phillips SD Cards??

Probably the machine supports only cards formatted as FAT32 and no more than 32 MB in size. That's true of most CPAP machines.

Yes the size/capacity is likely the culprit. You could replace it or maybe you might get away with a partition into 2 drives at 32 GB each and format to FAT32. I'm not certain it'll work though, it depends on the Philips PAP accessing it.

I'm pretty sure the 11 isn't backing away from the format type on the 10, which was FAT32.

You can use a thrird party partition manager to format your SD Card as FAT32. You will sacrifice half the capacity but the 32GB FAT32 partition laid onto the 64GB card should work fine.

Google "FAT32 64GB" for hits on 3rd party partition utilities.

FWIW, not that the action I did is PAP related, but I edit a digital sign at church and it requires a small USB stick for updates until we get the network to the sign working. I used an old 64 GB and partitioned it to 2 32 GB. The PC sees 2 drive letters with E: being FAT32. I use E: to run the sign.

From attached DS2 FAQ guide..........
"Device
11. What is capacity of the SD card?
Philips has SD cards that hold 8GB worth of data. The SD card can have varying capacity capable of storing data equivalent of the life of the device."

A 16GB or 32GB card would work fine. These can be found readily on Amazon or even a Walmart should have these in their camera department. I would suggest either SanDisk or PNY brands for reliability.
