So just to clarify for myself.

CA = central apnea is that the same as clear airway on sleepyhead.

What is the threshold one should look for in determination when epr should be switched off? Or adjusted up or down.

Thanks,
Anthony

More or less... "Clear airway" is a more generic term which implies that there was no breathing but the machine couldn't detect an obstruction. "Central apnea" is a specific medical condition when the brain doesn't signal the diaphragm to "breathe now". A PSG can diagnose centrals by measuring airflow and also breathing effort by a chest-band. (And possibly via the EEG, though I'm not sure of that). The PAP machine knows there is no airflow but it doesn't know what your chest and brain are doing, hence the use of the more generic term.

Well my Respiratory Therapist said they were going to change the pressure to something a bit higher than 4 as a starting pressure so it was more comfortable so I checked the machine tonight when I got back from being out. It is now set to a range of 6-15 and EPR is on at a level of 2.

They also told me to not use it tonight. They want me to spend some time with it on during the day tomorrow to get used to it and then use it tomorrow night for the first time.
