On return from Canada last week the security person indicated that there is a new policy and that CPAPs would have to be taken out now.

Better safe than sorry. Let's just hope some bad dude doesn't use a CPAP machine someday and ruin things for all of us traveling CPAPers just like that shoebomb jagoff ruined everything for those of us who travel with shoes on our feet.
