The heated tube, set at maximum in manuel humidity mode should feel a little warm, and also prevent rainout.
I have had my machine fail, a new tube didn't solve the problem, rainout at almost any humidity setting.
Since then i have gone thru 5 Airsense 10's where the humidifier dosen't work at all. Hope yours has warranty.
