[Treatment] In need of guidance.

RE: In need of guidance.
when i wake up now, I have to check that the machine is on, it feels like it's off. you really do get use to the pressure.
12-16 seems to be working for you, keep it for a few days and then review. the flex setting makes breathing feel more natural. it may take a couple of months for sleep patterns to be 7-9hrs. I never slept for more than a few hours at a time with apnea. I'm actually using valdoxan to help reset my clock.

From machine or charts for auto-cpap, set the min at 'med' median pressure, or 2cm below 90/95%. max at 20cm for now. Forum will help you fine tune settings

RE: In need of guidance.
I cannot recommend on sleeping through the night, as I nearly never do. I am up right now for my normal one hour sit-me-up. Then back to bed. I have only been using CPAP therapy for 2.5 years.

RE: In need of guidance.
Feeling confused. I upped the pressure a few days ago from 12-16 to 12.5-17 for 2 days and then 13-17 past two nights. AHI was 3.2, 5.4, 2.4, 1.6 and then last night was 8.6 when I woke at 04:30 after 4.5 hours sleep, I had some decaf tea, reduced pressure to 12 and went back to bed, woke after an hour AHI 8.6, slept another hour and now AHI is 10.2. I'm totally confused. Will post sleepyhead screenshots at my sisters later as don't have wifi. Feeling confused.

RE: In need of guidance.
hi managed to get wifi access and upload sleepyhead images via imgur of last few nights. re last night, I changed the pressure back down to 12 when I woke at 04;30 as worried re result and not sleeping. top last night and preceding nights below. I don't really understand leak rate and all that, as my dreammapper says no leaks, but I guess total disconnects could be leaks? so any input appreciated as I was in a bit of a panic this morning wondering maybe my machine is faulty as even at a max pressure of 16 im getting obstructive apneas when a few weeks ago they were lower even when pressure didn't get above 10.
at 12 to 16 I had and AHI for three nights below 2 and now at 13 to 17 its gone up to 10.2 with 19 obstructives? pleas help Dielaughing
much appreciation, Gary

with such a variable, I would suggest there is some positional problems, back sleeping or need a foam neck collar, or you could try 14 as a minimum and close right in on the 95%. My rule of thumb is to add pressure when in doubt Smile

RE: In need of guidance.
I've been wearing a soft collar for 6 nights now. So you would suggest increasing to min 14 and max 16?

RE: In need of guidance.
with your first chart of ahi 10, you can see the 3 main clusters, given their position at the beginning and end of sleep period. It may be half asleep junk. As you know a cpap pressure gives one branch of the tree in a sleep study. If the clusters are positional, more pressure may help. There is nothing wrong with running 95% as your minimum pressure, it's the number they can use for fixed cpap. It may help give a shorter time to climb to a higher pressure, when the clusters are there.

RE: In need of guidance.
HHi thanks for getting back to me. I don't understand the last bit? And sleep junk? What's the significance of the periodic breathing I need all this?
