I'll have to go out of pocket to get an S9 machine; and I am on the cusp of doing that. Supplier #2 has some nice open box specials. I want the S9 VPAP Auto. To start off, I would set it to S mode, default the timing and switch sensitivity (as they are now on my S8) and set my IPAP and EPAP pressures as they are now. It would act the same as a VPAP S machine. After getting a handle on the data, I'd probably go Auto.
Honestly - if I am reading it correctly? Your AHI is around '10'? If so, for some of us, we need to consider that as 'good'. Even after nose and mouth surgery, my AHI without my dream machine is in the 60s, and while I have gotten a few '2's and '3's - my usual is '8.4' and the like. (I borrowed the special card reader needed for my machine or the S8 from another member, and have been tracking my data for a few months) - I too would like a newer data-capable machine.
Just a thought? Many members that are getting the "less than 5" AHI numbers may not have such severe OSA...

RE: Looks like I'm not meeting my goals
My sleep study in 2011 I had 45 events per hour with most being hypopneas and a drop of Sp02 79% with 130 minutes of sleep and this didn't include REM sleep.
But, some people have less events in their sleep study and use higher pressures to start and others have more events and use a less starting pressure. As we all know, it is so individualized and the sleep lab is one night as opposed to how it may be at home night after night. So many factors come into this.
I am grateful to have something (my machine) that will keep my airway open and me alive!

I have that special reader and data card for the S8. I just cannot get my S8 machine to recognize the card when inserted.
So, I've just been reading data out of the review menu.
My original sleep study had an AHI of 32 per hour. During the titration, they got me to 8 per hour.
RE: Looks like I'm not meeting my goals
I finally got the S8 reader and card to work! Amazing what a little "Dust Off" spray will do for dirty contacts.
