[Treatment] New to CPAP
#1
New to CPAP
I was diagnosed with severe sleep APNEA recently. I am a 56 year old woman and usually I wake up 5 or 6 times during the night, fall asleep in my chair of a night and sometimes during the day. I had a sleep study done and was told my AHI was 66.9.  Shocked me to say the least how many times an hour I was stopping breathing.

First night last night on a trial machine with a Phillips Respironics Nasal Pillows Mask.  Was a bit apprehensive about this because I am a mouth breather but I think this is only because I have had trouble breathing normally. Needless to say I shouldn't have worried, I slept 6 hours without getting up once and my AHI this morning was 3.0.

Didn't have trouble with the mask at all, just takes some getting used to.  Smile

Hello Cassa

Welcome to the forum. That is fabulous that you did a stint of 6 hours for night one!! AHI of 3 is not bad too for a first night too.

Long may your success continue.

How do you feel ?
