Turn it off. If you can successfully use auto start/stop, and desire to use that feature(bug), that IS turning it off. Otherwise, just turn it off. It may show multiple "sessions" on that night's graphs, but all the data for the night will be shown based on the whole night, not on individual "sessions".

I have never understood why folks think it advisable to leave it running when they go drain the radiator.
