Two week newbe need help

Two week newbe need help
Greetings all, I've been using my apap machine for about two weeks using the settings set by DME from sleep study(see screen shots 1 and 2). Felt pretty good about it and was making progress. I have been reading posts in this forum and have learned a lot. OSCAR indicated that AHI was good but had a persistent LL readings. Changed my EPR setting from ramp only to full time and things got better (LL's are gone) shot 3 -4. But now I'm not sleeping as long (4th screen shot last night.

I really would appreciate if the board and others would offer suggestions where to improve. Today I increased min pressure to 6 (baby steps) will report tomorrow if that helps

RE: Two week newbe need help
Your numbers look good but your flow limits are high.  Flow Limits are apnea just like O and H events only smaller.  They are not counted AHI but flow limits can stop you from a good nights sleep.  We try to limit flow limits with EPR (exhale pressure relief) BUT to do that you have to set you min to at least 7 and EPR to 3 full time.

The min is the inhale pressure and the Exhale pressure also if you do not use EPR.  If you use EPR it reduces the min by the number you pick (1, 2 or 3).  Example Min 7 EPR 3 ...  inhale 7 exhale 4.   Now you have a min of 5 so your EPR 3 would still give you an exhale of 4.  (because 4 is the lowest the machine can go) Min 5 - EPR 3 only makes the exhale 4 not 2.

I hope that makes sense to you.

I would suggest you leave everything the way it is except move the min to 7.

RE: Two week newbe need help
staceyburke,
Thank you for helping. Yes last night I sleep better with min @ 6. I will change to min 7 tonight and report back. Also switched to large pillows which helped with breathing. OSCAR is great, I'm a details type of person and take my well being seriously.

last night.

You might try turning off the ramp feature as well as raising your minimum, as staceyburke suggests.
