afib and sleep apnea

I don't use this equipment so am not much help.  The ASV presents an interesting use of the data because in addition to events, you can see where the machine is increasing pressure support and working harder to prevent apnea, hypopnea and periodic breathing.   Glad to hear the ASV is still working out for you.  Happy and healthy new year.

Thanks for these comments...and a Happy New Year to you both.

Last night's results I've attached, as perhaps you might both suggest how, in the absence of 'connectedness' between the SleepyHead chart and the SpO2 data, I might make a best observation of how things are going for me:
"you can see where the machine is increasing pressure support and working harder to prevent apnea, hypopnea and periodic breathing"

I will now see my sleep physician early in the New Year, now that I've exhausted the heart Afib possible changes with the cardiologist, as I'd like to make some lifestyle changes in the New Year (diet; exercise; lung workouts, as I feel I'm getting less fit by the day...and puffing more on my short walks). I wonder is that a result of greater machine support with breathing while I'm asleep, or other simpler factors...like ageing!!!

Cheers...poppypete.

RE: afib and sleep apnea
The total recording time for Sleepyhead and the oximeter is the same, but the oximeter only shows about 20 minutes on the charts. There is a small bump in the pulse rate at about 00:54 and that appears to correspond to the only UA event. The chart shows steady SpO2 and pulse through the 10 minute period, and we can only compare the charts for a brief period from 12:50 to 1:10 AM vs 9.5 hours in Sleepyhead.

This is the sort of thing I'd like to understand better...
...and which I'd expect to show up on SleepyHead charts when the SpO2 was integrated into it...
  • ...which currently I can't do with my instrument and software.

re: "we can only compare the charts for a brief period"

That's my current issue too...each page of the MedView software represents only 20min, so I'd need to show you 29 screen shots of SpO2 data over the same 9.5hrs as against one only necessary for the full night of a SleepyHead report.

re: (jaswilliams) "It’s not 100% but usable for occasional use."

I'm waiting on Supplier #19 to respond to an email before I consider whether to purchase that unit, to replace my current unit and then to see if I can master what is of concern to jaswilliams:

"Get a contec CMS 50F will do a reasonable job. But instructions are very poor also you will have more success if you install the software in a custom location on your pc otherwise you have to jump through a few hoops to import the spo2 files into sleepyhead."

Appreciate your interest as always...poppypete.
