Vietnamese using CPAP machines for neonatal care
Tonight's PBS News Hour reported on Vietnamese doctors using home-made CPAP machines to facilitate breathing in babies with breathing difficulties. The reason for making their own is that machines from the US are too expensive.

I assume the episode is available online someplace, but I don't know where.

In Vietnam, new hospital equipment gives more infants a breath of life
July 15, 2014 at 8:19 PM EDT

Hospitals in Vietnam used to rely on imported equipment that often broke down. Now, cheaper, more usable neonatal machines are made within the country and are tailored to local conditions. Special correspondent Fred de Sam Lazaro reports from Hanoi on how these machines have brightened the prognosis for infants.

I found this article very interesting. Thanks for sharing JJJ & Zonk.

To err is human, but to really mess things up, you need a computer.
