WISP mask problem
#11
RE: WISP mask problem
I'm using it at one week , and i'm liking it . Sleepyhead is reporting leaks , but i didn't noticed any big enough to worry. My AIH levels are very good and
it's the most slackened mask that i used so far.

RE: WISP mask
I, too, had liked the WISP but getting that ulceration on the top of nose was not good and I had good AHI numbers. No matter how I arranged my pillow I always seemed to push the mask over a bit. I was told I could get cushions but why keep having to buy and use those if I don't have to?
I am now using the nasal pillow and have been able to keep my mouth shut (breathing wise) which I did not think I would be able to learn to do. I was able to eliminate the chin strap altogether. I am more easily able to sleep on my side, and I like having the air hose come from on top of my head.
You mentioned that you were getting good numbers. Do you mind saying what they were?
Good luck with your WISP.

RE: WISP mask problem

Hello ... Wow! Your nose does look aggravated by the Wisp. That must be a painful annoyance. I'm sorry you are suffering. Perhaps you need a larger size (or smaller) Wisp. Your doctor will know best. I hope you find relief soon.

I went from the Dreamwear to the Wisp effective yesterday. I only had the Wisp on 1hr. & 42 min. and had to remove it because the pain and discomfort was unbearable. And when I did remove the mask, my face was bright pink and my nose felt swollen and congested. But my problem was not from the fit of the Wisp because that was excellent. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was.

My problem was the RAMP air pressure which was on auto. After a short period, it felt like an air blizzard was attacking me and I couldn't get to sleep. So I removed the mask and fell asleep quickly.

I see my new GP next week and I will ask her if I should have a titration study. Between the RAMP and EPR, I'm befuddled and not receiving the full benefits of the CPAP therapy that I should.

Hang in there and I hope you find the help you need to solve your issue.
