Waking up a couple hours early and can't get back to sleep

This could simply be because you are older. I'm in my mid-50s and for the past couple of years, things easily wake me up. I'm finding white noise to be somewhat helpful, but doesn't eliminate the problem.

As to the breathing heavy, that's typically what you do in REM sleep, so it could be that you need higher pressure all the time simply to handle that higher REM sleep (which is my current problem, but I have an auto that handles it). As others have mentioned, first check with Sleepyhead to see what is going on.
