How to set an Resmed S9 VPAP machine
Hi

I have just bought a 2 yr old Resmed S9 VPAP machine & as I don't see my respiratory specialist until May I would like to set up the machine so I can start using it. I know someone pointed me to a site that had instructions for accessing the menu to set up the machine (generally used by technicians). I would be really grateful if someone could give me a link.

Thanks

Hi geeaygee, welcome,
If you look up to CPAP Setup Manuals just above log in register , click on that. Scroll down to find your machine.
Good luck,

RE: How to set an Resmed S9 VPAP machine
G'day geeaygee, welcome to Apnea Board.

As mentioned above, there is a link to the manuals at the top of each page on the forum. There are hundreds of different manuals available, so read the instructions carefully and ensure you request the manual for the correct machine.

What particular S9 do you have? There are quite a few different versions including half a dozen VPAPs. The model name is printed on the top of the machine near the on-off button. I'm interested that you purchased a VPAP - these tend to be specialist machines for people whose apnea can't be treated with the regular CPAP and Autosets. Did you have a specific reason for choosing VPAP?

Anyhow, good luck with your therapy and keep coming back with any questions - we're all here to help each other.

Ditto what DeepBreathing posted.......

VPAP is a more sophisticated form of PAP used for treating more complex forms of sleep apnea.

I would be concerned about you setting it up yourself unless you are copying existing settings from a machine you've been using for a while that was set up by an appropriate medical professional.

I'm from the US so I don't know much on how the medical system works "down under".

Hope this helps

Hi DeepBreathing

I bought a S9 VPAP S. I guess I did not look into it properly as I thought it was just the top of the range CPAP machine & as it was the same price as other S9 CPAP & APAP machines (& it was newer than the others) I just went with it.

Having looked at the manual, happily it looks like I can just set it to APAP which I am pretty sure I can manage as I have the setting given to me by my respiratory specialist.

Thanks for your help & concern.

Regards
