What the Manufacturers REALLY Think About the Patients
What the manufacturers and the medical mafia think of their prey, err... patients.

Presenting Fattie Freddy and Slackjaw Suzie.

Note the blank stares, clothes that don't button up, fat frames, and double chins.

Note the simple smile of the sheep about to be led to the slaughter.

Feed them propaganda to keep them complacent and compliant.

If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.

Don't hold back man, tell us what you really think.

Using FlashAir W-03 SD card in machine. Access through wifi with FlashPAP or Sleep Master utilities.

I wanted to learn Binary so I enrolled in Binary 101. I seemed to have missed the first four courses. Big Grinnie

RE: What the Manufacturers REALLY Think About the Patients
What is the original link for the image? I live in Murrysville and know some of the programmers and people at Philips Respironincs. We drink beer together and occasionally talk shop. They are aware of those of us who use Sleepyhead software, but were totallly unaware of our access to EncoreBasic, EncorePro and other professional resources. They don't consider patients their customers at all, and don't cater to us in any way. All communication, promotions and contact is through DME and physician groups. They fear discussing anything outside of that professional arena, and generally don't do it unless they know you.

RE: What the Manufacturers REALLY Think About the Patients
One of the more frustrating issues I have with them is about who they see as their "Customers"....

CPAP manufacturers even now see the DMEs as their "customer", and not the lowly "sheep".... er.... "patient".

We've even told one of ResMed's Vice Presidents who joined the forum that we're tired of them not seeing us (the end-users) as their "customer". Seems it all falls on deaf ears, as all we got were platitudes and a virtual "pat on the head".

You're posting more proof that they still are in "arrogant" mode, still treating us like cattle that exist to help fatten their bottom line. Of course with the system we have, they (along with others in the medical mafia) are incentivized to act this way.

Oh-jeez

Hopefully these people will think before they go to their corporate officers with a suggestion that they take action to prevent us "lowly patients" from accessing the software we use to take a more active role in our own therapy.

If they do anything drastic to keep us from accessing the clinician-level software, their product will no longer be recommended by those of us who are an active part of the "patient empowerment" movement here.

We're the ones who are paying THEM, in other words. Without us, their so-called "customers" (DMEs) would not exist and they'd be out of business.

The end-user is the real customer, not a middleman like a DME.

The sooner these CPAP manufacturers realise this, the better it will be for them.

Sorry for sounding PO'd here, but yeah, I am kind of PO'd at them.

Too-funny

There is an old saying that it is better to be pissed off than pissed on but I think we are getting both so I am really getting irritated.

Hey, I got an idea... Next time you're drinkin' with 'em, perhaps you can suggest they give you a copy of the latest version of Encore that supports DreamStation machines, so we can help more people around here. Big Grinnie Whistle
