What the heck is PsiService_2
#1
I found a strange process running on my machine.

It lives at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Protexis\License Service
Has two files in the folder:
PsiService_2.exe and PSIKey-32001.dll

It starts from
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\PSI_SVC_2

Googling, it seems to belong to Corel -- but, I don't have any Corel SW.

It's not on my other windows machine.
This machine does have Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop elements 12, and Premiere Elements 12. Plus, Roxio Creator NXT3.

What is it?

It's a copy protection program. It is/was installed by another program to prevent copying or duplication. Here is the uninstaller command:
Uninstaller: MsiExec.exe /I{AF72E557-0647-4DE5-ACDA-ECFB38D5D732}

I think I'd disable the service first to see if anything blows.

I have stopped and disabled startup from the Services console.
I notice that I did install a trial version of Corel about 5 months ago -- I'm betting it was installed then.
