RE: What water for the humidifier?
I started out using distilled water. I did so for quite a few months. I got tired of trying to keep it on hand. That, and although it was only about $0.99 per gallon at our local Walmart, it adds up. That's money I decided to use for gas for my m/c. 
Anyways, I ran it past this forum and the general consensus was, that tap water was fine, as long as you emptied the water reservoir frequently and wiped it dry.
We have very hard water here and the mineral deposits do build up in a few days. Some white vinegar takes care of that ASAP.
For me, the water reservoir is one of the easiest CPAP things to care for. Mine is original to my machine, and it's now over two years old, and hasn't leaked a drop of water.
