Whats your average AHI on xPAP
05-15-2012, 08:00 AM
On AUTO my AHI averaged 28 over 6 months, but I did not desaturate and most were hypopneas. Switched to ASV two months ago and now average 11. Seeing the sleep doc today for a checkup and I hope to improve that number. Again I have mostly hypopneas.

last 30 days 0.80
last 7 days 0.52
last night 1.37 (6 hypopneas, 2 obstructive)
I haven't been sleeping well so I took a Melatonin last night to help me sleep. Does anyone know if this gives you more events? I haven't used it before so I don't have any experience with it.

Anything like that can increase your AHI. Especially when you first start taking it.

Others' numbers tell me I still have a distance to go on decreasing my AHI, but I can see progress since switching to an AutoSet---first as a loaner and now one of my own.
March 7-31: AHI 7.5
April 1-21: AHI 5.7
April 22-May 7: AHI 5.4
May 8-15: AHI 4.8

Average for me is about 0.44 which definitely shows xPAP is working since the sleep study calculated it as about 34.

Congratulations on breaking through the 5.0 barrier! Good job!!! Keep it going! Now, are you feeling better at 4.8 than you were at 7.5?
