Who takes ESD precautions when handling their SD card?
#1
Question
My computer and my S9 are only a few feet apart. SD cards have some ESD protection as chip designers have been putting on-chip ESD protection on for decades.

I use a wrist strap that is grounded to earth. I happen to have an 8 foot ground stake outside my window that I use for HAM equipment.

In a properly grounded house wiring, one could use a case screw on their computer for the wrist strap.

I'm reminded today as we have winds and low humidity -- the recipe for that zap on the carpet.

I don't. But I also don't have carpet. I do have cats. Would you like some?

I used to get a zap from the chair mat I had.
The only thing a cat is good for is to rub them on a glass rod to produce static.
