Why go to 18-19 pressures?

Why go to 18-19 pressures?
When my Airsense 10 APAP goes to a pressure of 18-19 my mask always leaks and it wakes me. Then I struggle with the mask and stay awake an hour, Also I have to have the make very tight and stay in one position to avoid leaks.
Therefore a pressure of 18+ is useless for me - all it does is wake me !

My questions are

1)  what is causing pressure to go that high? and

2) Should I limit that high end. I am at 4-20 right now.
Doctors appt next week and I will talk to him about this but wanted more knowledge before than.

thanks

You need to turn on your event flags so we can see what's happening. If you could move up your flow limitation chart that would help also.

The cause of the pressure increase is going to be related to flow limitations and events.

Because of the flow limitations I would cap your maximum pressure to about 15cm to avoid pressure runaway. Also your minimum pressure is way too low. Try raising it up say 8cm as a starter and see how that works for you.
