RE: Windows 10
After M$ declared the Pokki start menu add-on on my wife's laptop as malware Rolleyes and deleted it, I went looking for a replacement start menu. Tried a program that installs a Windows 7-like start menu. It is called Classic Shell.

http://www.classicshell.net/

It's free. Works good so far on 8.1 and 10. Has a lot of customization options. I like that it doesn't completely hose the Windows 8/10 start menu. You can Shift-Click the start button to get the original Windows 8 or 10 start menu or just click on the start menu for the Classic Shell version.

Works on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.

RE: Windows 10
Another utility I tried is called Mouse without Borders.

It is a Microsoft Garage project. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35460

from their site:
Quote:Mouse without Borders is a product that makes you the captain of your computer fleet by allowing you to control up to four computers from a single mouse and keyboard. This means that with Mouse without Borders you can copy text or drag and drop files across computers.

Mouse Without Borders is a Microsoft Garage project by Truong Do. Garage projects are side projects that Microsoft employees like Truong build for fun on their nights and weekends. Mouse Without Borders was designed for people who use many computers in the same room. For example, a laptop or tablet that you take to meetings might sit right alongside the desktop PC in your office.

On my desk I have 4 monitors, 2 for each desktop, a laptop with the docking station and a 3rd desktop running ubuntu but currently headless. Add in speakers, neat scanner and the usual junk one collects in the office I have no room for 2 keyboards and 2 mice.

With MwB I can have one keyboard and mouse and just move the mouse off the right of my Windows 7 monitor and onto the left side of my Windows 10 monitors. The keyboard automatically follows it. I can do what I need to do on 10 and move the mouse back to Windows 7.

I have an older version installed and it works great but the newer version supposedly allows you to drag files across to the other computer. A feature my version doesn't have.

Be very careful. Apparently Microsoft is going to try and install Win10 without even asking for permission. If you have automatic updates, it will start installing Win10 without warning.

Who do they think they are, Apple?

Get the free SleepyHead software here.

M$ is trying to get us to upgrade our computers at work from 7 to 10. With EA, we pay a zero-usage true-up every year, unless we add devices but with 10, no volume license, rent each license and Office 365.

That is such crud... You can add Google to the end of your question too.

Found this other story from your link archangle.

Stop Windows 10 updates:

Stop The Windows Update Service

As central as it is to the core of Windows 10, Windows Update is actually just another Windows process so it can be stopped with these simple steps:

Open the Run command (Win + R), in it type: services.msc and press enter
From the Services list which appears find the Windows Update service and open it

In ‘Startup Type’ (under the ‘General’ tab) change it to ‘Disabled’
Restart

To re-enable Windows Update simply repeat these four steps, but change the Startup Type to ‘Automatic’

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum
Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night

RE: Windows 10
That's what M$ is forcing many to consider. I even brought it up at work as an alternative to having to upgrade thousands of off-the-domain PCs from XP to 7. Just install Mint or Ubuntu.
