Wow! Just wow!
My rose bushes are in full bloom and they are amazing! I love spring. It is my favorite time of the year. Everything is so fresh and new.

Our two grandsons, 1 and 4 years old, spent the night with us last night. I took the youngest with me to get groceries this morning. He is an amazing young man. On the way back from getting groceries I had to stop and move a fledgling out of the road. It had apparently flown as far as it could and couldn't get going again. It didn't try to get away or fight me when I picked it up. It was like it knew I was trying to help and wouldn't hurt it. I carried it to a tree on the side of the street and when I opened my hands, it jumped and was able to get going again. It landed on a branch of the tree and sat there looking at me.

Today was a wonderful day in Van Buren.

Nice. Roses (and most plants) come to my house to die. Sad Happy to hear you have good luck with them.

I wanted to learn Binary so I enrolled in Binary 101. I seemed to have missed the first four courses. Big Grinnie

I know what you mean, Alan. That is usually the fate of any plant that comes to my house. Luckily these are Double Knock Out roses and are very easy grow.

like Glad to hear your enjoying life growing roses and saving birds.
Here is a pic of my Don Juan's. I have some red headed finches nesting in them this spring. Big Grin

Beautiful. I like what you have done to your place.

We have Barn Swallows nesting on the beam of the curtain wall of our front porch every year. They can be pretty messy but a few minutes with a garden hose every day takes care of that. We have had no problem with flies or mosquitoes since they started hanging around. They make good neighbors.

I do have good luck with the two plumeria plants. Also the acalypha wilkesiana (Copper Plants) are doing well. It didn't get cold enough this winter to put them into a dormant state.

RE: Wow! Just wow!
I had some tree swallows do the same a couple of year a go, but I just let them be. And I enjoyed watching them. I also cleaned the area around the nest with the hose once a week. However, when they abounded the nest, I took a power washer to it, and I repainted the area. Maybe that's why they didn't come back Eat-popcorn

You know in some parts of the world the swallows nest is delicacy?Thinking-about

The roses and a couple of trees are about the extent of my gardening skills. It is pretty much a death sentence for any plants my wife and I buy.

heh my "good luck" = sticking the thing in the ground and hoping for the best. They must have been planted in just the right area because they are starting to flower. Took about three years though.

A little bit of Hawaii right outside my bedroom window. Smile
