RE: WatchPAT pRDI score - could this be UARS, or is this insignificant?
It tends to work better if you keep all your therapy questions in one thread so it's easy for the experts to follow along. Maybe the moderators can merge this with your previous thread.

On your last thread Opal asked how you feel.
Your charts look good so what matters is how you feel.

If you feel good you have no need to run down rabbit holes.

OSCAR screenshots are much more helpful than sleephq data. Post those so the experts can see what you are referring to with your questions.

As said in your previous thread...
The goal with flow limits is to have the 95% flow limits at or below 0.10, ideally below 0.03. Most nights.
That indicates flow restrictions at a level low enough to not effect the quality of your sleep.

RE: WatchPAT pRDI score - could this be UARS, or is this insignificant?
The extent to which you feel improvement with CPAP is pretty good evidence that your pRDI was having a significant impact on the quality of your sleep. I would be surprised if there were a sustained placebo effect at work. I also note that your snore rates have dropped from fairly heavy (test) to nothing (Oscar).

The CAs were probably due to hiccups in the neurochemical hand-offs involved as the regulation of awake breathing shifts to the regulation of asleep breathing. That's pretty common, tends to resolve with time, and I wouldn't worry about t.

People can be sensitive to FLs in varying degrees. The sensitivity can be a response to direct or indirect effects of FLs. Indirect effects occur especially with ResMed machines, which respond quickly to FLs, on the theory that this heads off potential hypopneas or obstructive apnea events. But that can mean a lot of ups and downs in pressure, which some people find disturbing. If pressure changes don't bother you, then I wouldn't worry about your level of FLs.

I'm fascinated to hear your experience. Reports of such clear improvement via CPAP after a low AHI/high RDI test are both unusual and encouraging!

RE: cwhyd - Therapy Thread
cwhyd,
I have merged your two threads.  It's much easier for those that offer advice if all your history is in one place.  I also retitled your thread.

Going forward, please use this thread for all your questions and posting charts.

Thanks!   Smile

RE: cwhyd - Therapy Thread
Thanks for all the replies, everyone!

It's great to have this under control, and was really interested to read about CA events being more typical as you're falling asleep.

And to my earlier question - I'm looking to get a proper diagnosis so that I can get some support with the cost of replacement masks etc.

With the pRDI scores earlier, is that figure significant enough that a specialist would look at a case of UARS? Or is that score so low that I'd be laughed out of the room?
