erratic respiratory rate
I have been noticing that my respiratory rate have been very erratic like in the 1st picture.
[attachment=1588]

Occasionally it is less wild like the 2nd picture.
[attachment=1587]
Also, any thoughts on my inspiration and expiration times.
I am currently seeing a pulmonologist for the 1st time for breathing problems, life long asthma and allergies. It has not been decided if I have COPD. He is having me try prednisone for now.

Thanks for your comments and insights, Brad

Read this tutorial on how to post images. I'm sure we can get something more useful. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...pnea_Board

can you post a 3 minute swatch of breathing when respiration is above 24 per minute? if possible, show flow rate, respiration rate and tidal volume.

thanks,

RE: erratic respiratory rate
honestly, your respiration is within band, I count 14 to 16 real normal to slightly above normal breath flow and volume per minute.

I think the wobble in the breathing, though not as distinct and flappy as my friend1 chart, throws sleepyhead calcs or data reading into a tizzie.

certainly not something that you need to obsessivate about. my friend turned her flex off and this settled down the respirations to normal.

You may get the same result by adjusting your AFLEX down a notch from X3 to X2, or from X2 to X1.

RE: erratic respiratory rate
I am not sure how this can be characterized as erratic. If your rate of respiration goes from a 2-second cycle to a 3-second cycle, that seems like less of a problem than it does normal feedback response to how fast the feedback systems in your body are determining what the length of that cycle should be at any particular time. I'd be more alarmed if every breath was robotically identical. I guess I need to look at my graph and see.

Plus those RDI numbers are great. A .15 means you had probably one event the entire night.
