Mask tightness depends on pressure, mask, facial topography and probably a few other things. One should keep the mask as loose as one can without leaks but on the other hand as tight as needed to eliminate leaks.

Last couple of nights my AHI has gone up into the mid 20's (was down into the lower teens for about the last four nights before the change) so the change really doesn't seem to be having the desired effect yet, but I'll give it some time. I also found though where the hose connects to the mask wasn't fully seated and was leaking so I'm thinking maybe that contributed to the higher number.
