nasal mask question
If I have a stuffy nose and I breathe through my mouth will my ResMed report that?

To clarify will it report it as an event? if so what will the event be and how will it effect my score?

RE: nasal mask question
Yes, it will report a high leak rate.

Know that your machine may not be able to flag apnea events with accuracy if you have a high leak rate, whether it be from mouth breathing or mask leaking.

I too was a mouth breather and had to start using a chis strap. ResMed sells a Chin Restraint which I found to be about the best.
Good Luck and don't give up.

You will probably find that the machine actually helps with nasal congestion.  I actually find I am able to sleep a lot better with nasal pillows when I have a cold then prior to pap therapy.

RE: nasal mask question
I too had a leak problem, I was unknowingly mouthbreathing, this forum helped me identify it.
A chin strap did not work for me. I had to try many full face masks to find one that would work (Beard issue)

My point is everyone is different, every face is different, just keep trying until you find what works for you.
