From what I can tell both of them are automatically detected on the S9 Elite so no need to change hose settings but the manual actually says that only for the ClimateLine, not for the Max (which is 22 cm instead of 15 cm wide).

ClimateLine vs. ClimateLine Max Heated Hose
We have the ClimateLine. Until Vaughn mentioned the Max version I was not aware there were two different versions. Is one better than the other, or is the Max used for special circumstances? I could not find out much about it.

RE: ClimateLine vs. ClimateLine Max Heated Hose
Max is for use with S9 VPAP and the larger diameter is for higher pressures (over 20).

One online supplier said it could be used with any S9.
Another said only the S9 VPAPs. The Resmed website just has it listed as Climateline 19 and 15mm. I'd say don't worry about it.

climateline 15mm ... climateline Max 19mm
you can use either with S9 autoset the Max designed to be used with pressure over 20 (vpap or ventilation devices) the h5i automatically detect which climateline attached the climateline hoses have different temp sensor (orange thingy inside the tube at the mask end) which measures the temperature of the air just before it gets to the mask. the Max has a temp sensor which draws a bigger resistance S9 can detect which climateline is connected via the resistance of the temp sensor

Thanks for all three relies. I think we will stick with what we have.
